Star Rating: This was such a wild ride, I have not idea how to rate it
“I’m a bunny shifter who has been claimed by the wolf shifters. Things are going to get hot…or dead. I’m determined to honor the memory of my family by respecting the rabbit shifter community’s traditions. That is right up until I’m slapped in the face with an unexpected betrayal. The Elders are offering me up on a silver platter to the five male rabbit shifters whose favorite pastime is tormenting me. I can either be the rabbits’ plaything or run from the Burrows and the only home I’ve ever known. I’m sick and tired of being the docile bunny I was brought up to be. It is time that people learn this bunny can bite, because I’m not taking anything from anybody from now on… Not even from the wolves that are breathing down my neck. Sure, the bunnies are under the wolves’ protection, but these guys seem to have a taste for getting me all hot and bothered. Rabbit shifters and wolves will do business together, but personal relationships just aren’t possible… Right? And to make matters worse, my spring heat is happening. Like, now. A female rabbit can’t survive going through a heat alone, but can I trust these wolves to care for me when I’m at my most vulnerable? And what about afterwards?“
DISCLAIMER: This is an adult book doing adult things. The author has a trigger warning list on her personal website, I will probably link it to her so you are informed. My review will be censored becuase I dont think I can bring myself to say what all went in that book. Good things I promise. Also anyone related to me. This is your last chance to turn back or get real comfy with what I read. You have been warned. xoxo.

Okay – so –
Originally I had bought this book as sort of a gag gift. Then I found out that it was on kindle – Unlimited. AND THEN I found out it was actually part of a trilogy. So naturally I had to subject myself to the same torture that I put upon my friend.
And BOY HOWDY was it something.
I am not really sure how to describe this book other than shot gun cute sexy time and the boys reminded me of those wolves from that baby movie called “Stork”. Which wouldn’t be a bad thing – if you were not trying to bone any of these drop dead gorgeous manly beasts.
There are four characters all of which have a point of view chapters taking turns. Now, this is more on me. Its roughly 200 pages, of coarse there will not be depth and world building and character turmoil that they have to over come. HOWEVER, what the author was able to was create a mildly believable realm with the grounds for a chance at making something bigger.
The setting is modern with shifters, tvs, cellphones and cars. Theres a live reality show where the female bunnies are matched with their love mated fluffle for flips sake.
Now I need to back up a few paces and try to organize my thoughts.
Its the classic cliche of waiteress flirting with literal danger and the wolf men drooling over themselves. I am guessing its a classic troupe for the alpha to have the hots for the main female lead, so we have that checked off. Cillian ((I cannot pronounce this mans name)) is the Alpha, Rig is the Beta ((I think thats still a good ranking?)) and Syrus ((I am guessing the omega? The lowest ranking of the top dogs?)). They all share the same baincell. Again they are fun characters but there are moments throughout the story where I had to stretch my believability that these rough tough take no prisoners beast men with slongs the length of my forearm – saying AAAWWW and cooing over a sleeping grey bunny.
I am getting ahead of myself.
SO the boys are head over heels with this girl and proceed to do things that are not exactly recomened to do in the break room. They didnt get very far but the implications are there. Meanwhile, Monroe, the main female lead, is going through a phase in her life and naturally that is her first heat. GASP. Now I haven’t dived much into the whole shifter omega verse, but I know this is a big thing. Anatomy be damned.
This is where it gets to the Love Island saga of this tale along with some interesting world and lore building, which surprised me. The female bunnies that are now ready for their womenly duties ((gross – sigh)) and are not bounded to any one ((or six???? I will get there)) mate, go through some public beauty pageant to find said mate – mates. Rabbits apparently call this a fluffle which consist of three to six male rabbits per one female. ((this book had some interesting facts about bunnies – if its true?? I am known to be rather gullible sigh)).
Anyway, to discover their mates, the female rabbits wear magical stones as bracelets and wander the room till a crystal decoration on each table lights up. Literally a hot and cold game of finding your partner. Monroe finds her group of the classic bully golden boys who terrorized her throughout her life, sons to the elders of the burrow and they want nothing more than to humilated, belittle, use, and abuse her. Drama happens, weird politics and mating dynamics occur and Monroe is humiliated ON LIVE TV.
THE BOYS ARE WATCHING. For whatever reason, the wolves ((and probably anyone tuning in)) of this world has access to this whole event on tv and they see their love on live television having her dress ripped and torn leaving her exposed – for everyone to see.
Now
I will agree with the wolves on this no matter how cringy, cliche, meme-able it is. No one should ever go through that at all. I stan the wolves with this full heartedly and give them the green light to roit and run amok in that burrow.
The boys are on the mission to rescue the bunny of their dreams. Together they transform into their stellar silver silky white wolf forms and run into the night.
Here is where the weird OWO baby cooing lingo happens and I sort of lost the plot. These three men in wolf predator form are out on the hunt, found their love in a log and become jello. I honestly wouldnt be mad if a cool wolf was playing puppy and wanted belly rubs but thats besides the point. With her in their protection, they fall asleep and are nothing but a bundle of fluff. When they wake up the wolves discover Monroe had sleep shifted into her grey bunny self. And the awws and ooooos occur which was very weird.
They take sleeping bunny home to their high tech bachelor pad and info dumping occurs. I do actually give the author credit for building this part of the lore and explaining a few things to the reader. I guess wolves build dens for their future mate, and these three are so committed they went full HDTV house flipping for their future bride. Which cool! I have the interior decorative designs of a broke hoarding klepto, so to read about three grown adult men going to the point of making the floor boards have teal patina was rather amusing. ALSO they have a ten FOOT by ten foot mattress in the MIDDLE of the room as a drop down pit?
At this moment is where the real crux of the matter comes down to. Monroe has woken up, bare naked, the wolves have become men again, bare naked, and the literal heat is on. This is the point where I dont know anything about shifters. From what I know, heats are very animalistic and deadly. Monroe, bless her, does think logically enough to explain a few interesting facts about the rituals and requirements. Cool. SO naturally she is going into the death defying heat cycle, explaining it to rock hard wolves, how they could die because of her need to mate.
I had to turn off my brain cells for a few. Because, while I knew in actual life there are animates that can boink to death, it was just so wild to read about it.
Also I have to say most of the comedy, particularly in that scene, was rather note worthy. Here is this woman bunny person trying to logically work through what is physically happening to her, what may happen to them, her needs and desires, literally life and death. That she could kill them because of how much she needs to f*ck them during this heat cycle.
“And all the boys could wonder, “and this is a problem….why?” “
The scenes in this book were kind of interesting. Like, it was not the wild risqué raunchy descriptions I thought it would be. Ive read the Souls Trilogy- if you know, you know. On a spice scale I would say this is about a 2? Like there was a lot of potential for wild stuff to happen with the three men and one girl. It was rather bewildering to me when in actuality – everyone took their turn one at a time?
Sharing is caring?
ANYWAY, through out a series of events with mild spice stuff and shifter facts, we circle back to the bunny mafia. The subplot of this story goes back to how this bunny burrow reality show reveled to the world how awful rabbits are to the females.
Monroe has become the wolves queen, tiara and all, and they are going to re write history and put those darn sexist crude rabbits in place. Throughout the story there was a known treaty, that the wolves would protect the rabbits from other species attacks. The wolves are the top dogs and some how ended up in a contract to protect said rabbits. Again another intriguing world building thing that had potential to expand if this tale wasnt 200 pages and I would have liked to have more developed. I WANT CARNAGE.
Rig is honestly my favorite for his crazed unhinge need to cause pure mayhem, and I feel like he deserved a pit more screen time.
Jumping through hoops, pink under garments, and a bunny taking charge, Monroe had up ended the entire society. She has taken over as a kind caring queen – with exactly “six thousand nine hundred and sixty nine” wolves at her beckon call. She even renamed her self as Luna ((I believe this is the wolves version of title Queen)) and announced that all unbound females are welcomed under her care and protection. Pure pandaemonium.
But because of all the wolves at her side, her fearless demonstration of trust with the wolves, and the sheer determination of love across species, Monroe has made her point. She, the grey bunny reject of the burrows, has tamed the Alpha guardian wolf and will no longer be shunned or put down. And the burrow is not happy, and yet, they can not bring themselves to do anything to challenge her.
Things mellow out and Monroe and her new gal pal Reese, are living it up on a margarita date a few weeks after Monroe’s coronation. Everything couldnt be more dandy and going up and up her life. UNTIL the bunnies attack. So the group of men Monroe was betrothed to at the very beginning of all this nonsense, show up at the dinner and a brawl breaks out. In a scene that is cheesy and improbable but hey, ever wanted to drop kick that one ex of yours just because you could without any consequences? The rabbit bros are taken into custody somewhere in the wolves house and that is a story more or less wrapped up.
While the girls are rescued and recovering safely back at the Alpha bros house, there comes a knock. In comes our next female main in the second book looking for sanctuary, who came looking for Monroe. Who, on live television, told the world that any female bunnies that need a place to stay are welcomed at her place.
Thus opens up the scene for the second book in this trilogy.
I know I am jumping all over the place, but that is because of how a wild ride this book was. I enjoyed it, had to stretch the imagine at some parts, and I think I am going to read the other two books. Probably once again in a wine drunk filled frenzy. I also probably didnt do this book exact justice with the events and time lines. It was rather rushed, again 200 pages. Yet the author did build a basic enough realm that should be expanded upon in the next two books. I do give her credit for having multiple plots going on and that teh spice was not the whole point of the book. Beyond the pacing and the hurried ending and a few OWO’s, I would say I enjoyed this book well enough to recommend it to those who are fans of shifter universes.
